Directional hydraulic valve uses single or double solenoid mounting on the side of valve house, the each side of valve is called A or B side, it can be readable from Finotek valve nameplate. The solenoid consists of coil, steel core, piston and plastic plug, which is activated by electric signal. The voltage of solenoid can be 12VDC, 24VDC and 110VAC, 220VAC optional, for most of manually operation machines, the direct current solenoid operated directional hydraulic valve is often used, lots of the valve are quipped in plastic molding machines, pressing machines in industry. The house of Finotek directional hydraulic valve is black galvanization as surface treatment to prevent rust, the solenoids can be zinc plated in shining color and dull color for optional.

The directional hydraulic valves manufactured by Finotek with good working reliability, the valve is reliably changing the hydraulic fluid direction when the solenoid(s) energized and on to its correct position when the solenoid(s) de-energized. The reliability mainly depends on valve design and manufacture processing, its important to minimize spool movement resistance on the valve spool and is the key test standard to determine whether a valve is high or low quality.

Directional Hydraulic Valve Inner Structure

The picture “A-1” above is the directional hydraulic valve diagram, in which, the main parts of the directional hydraulic valve is the valve housing and valve spool nos. 1 and nos. 4 . There is a cylindrical hole (Valve housing hole or spool hole, for short) in the middle of valve housing, the cylindrical valve spool is able to move axially within the bore.
The valve housing is produced with several annular undercut groove (The groove is manufactured by models as per the valve function and made from casting iron material), each undercut groove connects correspondingly to main oil ports (P, A, B, T) on the valve connection subplate surface.

There are many several annular grooves cut and related shoulders on the spool as well, when the spool shoulder moves to cover the undercut groove of valve housing exactly, this connection chamber through fluid oil way is blocked (Off) at that moment.

When the oil connection chambers in closed position, the spool shoulder is not only covering the undercut groove of housing, but also covering flanking undercut groove of valve housing (Also called cover length).

When the shoulder is not covered undercut groove (Spool in open positIon), this will allow the oil through in its connection circuit, the axial length of the opening gap between the shoulder and undercut groove is called the opening length.

The number of undercut groove (The undercut grooves do not connects to main oil ports of P, A, B, T or special internal drain L port through undercut grooves are not counted) the number of shoulders directly affects to directional hydraulic valve function, valve operation performance, size and manufacturing processing
